Mixed martial arts champion and Telemundo’s former Exatlon contestant, Jorge Masvidal, visited the Spanish-language network after his highly-praised win against Nate Diaz, held on November 2nd at the Madison Square Garden.
“Gamebred,” as he’s also known, was one of the original contestants and top contenders in Telemundo’s hit sports competition, Exatlon. Masvidal took an extended sabbatical from his MMA career prior to Exatlon, crediting the show as part of a “soul-searching” process. He went back to the MMA cage after the show and is now enjoying the best run of his career. Most recently, the Miami-based fighter won the UFC BMF title, which was created specifically for his fight against welterweight champion, Nate Diaz.
“We recognized Masvidal’s potential since he joined Exatlon. To see him succeed in the MMA world fills us with pride and excitement for him, and we look forward to working with him in future projects,” said Ronald Day, EVP of Entertainment, Telemundo.
