Lionsgate has just released a family comedy/drama on Digital, On Demand and DVD with the film “LENA & SNOWBALL”, and it’s difficult to go wrong when an animal’s involved. That is the case here with Lena (Melissa Collazo), a girl that is bullied and finds peace when she stumbles upon a white lion cub named “Snowball.”
Lena soon learns that she has to deal with some evil poachers along with her bullies at school. She teams up with a new friend, Jake (Elliott Sancrant), and try to deal with bad guys that desperately want the little cub.
A lot of boxes are checked here. I think a lot of people can relate to the bullying and the cyber bullying is explored. This is something that will hit home with many and when you add a cute animal into it, you cannot lose. This film rides the fine line between cute and cuddly adventure and a drama that touches upon a worldwide topic.
LENA & SNOWBALL is a very good film for a family watch. That’s how I viewed it. My 10-year-old daughter really enjoyed it and I liked it as well. I highly recommend it. It has the ability to reach different audiences in different ways. This is a film that is for all audiences and all audiences will walk away with something different.
