“Fell” (2012) – Dead Girl HORROR MOVIE REVIEW

“Fell” is appropriately titled because I almost “fell” asleep watching it. I hate knocking a movie because I know all the work that goes into making one, but at some point as a film maker you have to ask yourself “Is this interesting to the audience?” People want to be entertained and I believe even a bad movie can entertain if done properly. The story itself is really interesting, but it could have been done as a 20 minute short and would have been far more effective.

Bill is the main character and he has a bit of a dilemma. Besides being a pill-head he has the body of a dead woman in his bathtub and he has no idea how it got there. His friend Derrick is the only person he can trust with his secret, but alas even Derrick seems to give Bill bad advice. What will Bill do? Can Derrick help him out of this mess and who is this girl in his bathtub? Will all these blood stains come out of the floor tile?

As interest as the story is it moves at such a slow pace I was wishing I were the one dead in the bathtub. It has so much redundancy, that you almost feel that they are afraid the audience won’t get it. Yes…I know…he’s on pills and is having delusions, yes…I know his girlfriend is mad at him and isn’t answering her phone, yes…I know he likes to sit on the porch and smoke cigarettes. I’m following the story, please stop showing me this stuff over and over. As I said…and yes, I know I’m now being redundant, this could easily have been a short that would pack quite a bang because it is indeed a good story with a surprise ending. As far as the script goes, I felt like much of the dialog was ad-lib but that could be just delivery problems.

I say don’t waste your time watching this one unless you are on death row and it’s the only movie in your collection or maybe you have trouble sleeping nights and don’t like to use narcotics, well then “Fell” may be just what you need to launch you into slumber land. If you do feel so inclined to watch it and you want to challenge my opinion of it, I would love to hear from you, but don’t say I didn’t warn you. You may buy it at the link below.

Lady of the Dark (2012) - Vampire HORROR MOVIE REVIEW

By Forris Day Jr. I’ll be honest here. There is no story that I could decipher in “Lady of the Dark”. It had a promising open with some dark and creepy sounding narration about serpents and such but soon became just an hour or so of ethereal background music with […]
