I’m not a superhero guy, outside of the Incredible Hulk TV series, but most superhero/comic book guys seem to shit on the idea of a muscular guy painted from head to toe in green. I’m for it. There’s not enough of it.
I always gravitate to DC over Marvel when it comes to superheroes, for the most part. I love the DARK KNIGHT films and I also liked BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE. So, I was recently sent a film by Frank Palangi about Superman and the crazy chaotic world we live in now and the premise is very good. What would Superman be doing right now during the Covid lockdown, riots and overall tensions in the country?
The conflict that Superman feels in this short film is reflective of how much of society feels. How can we get back and make things right again and this isn’t a political comment and this isn’t a political film either. This is bigger than that. This is a pure good versus evil film with the hope that those doing the terrible acts and the virus that sent the world into a downward spiral can be overcome. When it comes to good over evil, there is no character full of more good intentions than the Man of Steel, Superman.
I really liked LEGEND OF SUPERMAN: COVID RESPONSE. It hits home and captures how most of us are feeling during these trying times. I highly recommend it!
