Super featherweight, Leduan Barthelemy, 14-0-1, 7 KO’s, took it easy and cruised to a unanimous decision win over Miguel Angel Aispuro, 11-7-2, 7 KO’s, by scores of 80-72 (twice) and 79-73. From the opening bell, this appeared to be a sparring match more than a fight as both men touched gloves before and after each round. Barthelemy was a much better fighter but failed to push the issue and close the show on an opponent that didn’t belong in the ring with him.
There was a lot of hope around the career of Barthelemy, but that probably went down a few notches after this dull performance. It was a terribly boring fight with neither man doing any more than what they had to.
