Warner Bros. Home Entertainment just released the superhero hit KRYPTON: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON on Blu-Ray and DVD. Fans can purchase the set which, in addition to all 10 exhilarating episodes from season one, contains over an hour of extra content, including the 2017 Comic-Con panel, featurettes, deleted scenes and a gag reel. Krypton: The Complete First Season is priced to own at $24.98 SRP for the DVD and $29.98 SRP for the Blu-ray which includes a Digital Copy. Krypton: The Complete First Season is also available to own on Digital via purchase from digital retailers.
The SUPERMAN story has been told many times both on TV and in film, but this is an entire new take on the series, bringing the viewers to the home planet of the Man of Steel and turning back the clock to cover the grandfather of Superman, Seg-El. Much like the flashbacks of the Superman films of the past, KRYPTON shows the power of the political force in the city of Kandor. Seg-El sees the corruption of this group as his own grandfather is executed for treason.
The future of Superman and his positive impact on the human race is hanging in the balance as a time traveler from Earth comes to try to guide Seg-El and stop his need for revenge. Each episode is a battle against the system but also against the rage that Seg-El feels. We get some more familiar characters…most notably Zod and we see the building blocks of what was yet to come.
KRYPTON: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON is a very good show and, if you’re a Superman fan, this is a great buildup to the rest of the media that is out there. It was very easy for me to connect this series to the films that came later on. The show does a great job of being new and acknowledging the older stuff. I really enjoyed this and on Blu-Ray, the presentation was that much sharper.
