Now campaigning as a super middleweight, Danny Jacobs, 36-3, 30 KO’s, got a stoppage victory over Julio Cesar Chavez, JR., 51-4-1, 33 KO’s, after a reported broken hand ended the showdown.  Chavez, JR., quit in his corner, claiming a hand injury while his trainer, Freddie Roach, cited a broken nose.

Chavez, JR., came into the fight overweight and had to pay a million dollars to Jacobs to keep the fight.  From the opening bell, Chavez, JR., stalked Jacobs but couldn’t get anything done and as the fight went on, Jacobs began landing hard shots, giving Chavez, JR., a bloody nose and cut over his left eye.  He was beating down Chavez JR and the ending wasn’t in much doubt.  Jacobs was on his way to a knockout win.

In round three, Jacobs landed some hard shots, including a very good right hand.  In round four, he began controlling completely.  Chavez JR would quit in his corner after round five.  He took the money and ran and Jacobs got an unsatisfying victory over an opponent that came in overweight and a fighter that could not pass a drug test for PEDs, which is why the fight was in Arizona.

The idiot scumbags in the crowd threw trash into the ring and beer bottles.  Jacobs was dodging the incoming trash as fist fights broke out in the audience.  Maybe Arizona should be avoided for any upcoming boxing matches if these complete scumbag idiots are going to act like this.

Danny Jacobs can now move on and see what he can do at super middleweight.
