Jason Voorhees Vs Tina Shepard II: Friday the 13th REMATCH – HORROR BATTLE

Geno 4

By Geno McGahee

In the horror world battles, Jason is the current champion, bringing a record of 1-0 into this rematch of rematches. In FRIDAY THE 13TH, PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD, Jason met up with Tina Shepard, a girl with telekinetic powers and that really gave the man behind the mask some problems, but it’s been 25 years and he vows not to be blindsided this time.

Tina, now in her early forties, is no longer having issues with Dr. Crews and has gotten over the death of her father. After all, it was her dead father that jumped out of the water to take Jason down to the bottom of Crystal Lake and save her. That is why this rematch is happening. Up to that point, Tina had a slight edge in the fight, but Jason was coming on and it looked like Jason was well on his way to winning. Then, out of nowhere, the father jumps out of the lake and interferes. This has created the debate. What would have happened if the father minded his own business and let the fight end naturally? Well, we find out today.

THE BREAKDOWN

Jason Voorhees
11 movies, 1 remake
120+ kills
Scared Stiff Record: 1-0
Current Condition: Zombie

Strengths – Power, size, ability to take a punch, cannot be killed.
Weaknesses – Gets frustrated, can’t think on his feet, very self-conscious about his looks, goes into sleep mode when buried or chained to a rock in a lake.

Jason is one of the most intimidating horror icons that is just a tower of power to say the least. He tends to use basic weapons like an axe or machete, but he has also been spotted using power tools. He doesn’t need a weapon because of his strength, often using his power to break people in two. A veteran of 12 films (OK, #5, #9, #10 and the remake we should probably not count), Jason brings experience into this fight and is also looking for redemption.

Tina Shepard
1 movie
1 kill
Current Condition: Human

Strengths – Telekinetic powers, speed, and wit.
Weaknesses – Overly emotional, still feels some guilt over killing her dad, is only human and won’t be able to take any direct hits from Jason.

Tina came into her own in the 7th entry of the Jason series. She was mocked and manipulated, but would use her power of telekinesis to overpower and confuse Jason. In her early forties, this rematch is happening well beyond her prime, but she won the first fight.

(Note: Tina’s father is BANNED. He will not be allowed to interfere.)

THE FIGHT

With Crystal Lake as a backdrop, Jason warms up. Tina is making him wait, using some showmanship. Although banned from interfering, the lake is where Tina’s father still resides. What will he do if his daughter gets into trouble again? That is a concern for Team Voorhees.

With some firework explosions and “Eye of the Tiger” blaring on her boom box, Tina approaches, ready for war. She immediately starts shadowboxing and stands across from Jason with a smirk. She beat him once and she vows to beat him again.

Jason immediately lifts the machete to end it early, but he can’t. Tina is using her powers to freeze him in place. The frustration is visible immediately on Jason’s face. This is what he couldn’t overcome the last time. Jason is thrown ten feet into the trees and Tina rejoices. This may be over quickly.

Back to his feet, Jason throws down the machete and comes at Tina, ready to duke it out. He has his fist up but as he attempts a punch, he freezes again and Tina makes him punch himself in the face, over and over again until he drops to the ground. Jason is motionless. This is over, but this is Jason and it’s never over. Thanks to the voice of his dead mother, Jason is able to verbalize a comment that would shake Tina to her core. “You killed your father!” Tina breaks into tears and now it’s Jason’s chance. He lunges and now has her by the throat. Flashbacks of her father’s death come back and she is now content to join him, but that’s when the water starts bubbling. Jason looks over and sees Tina’s father run out of the lake, chains in hand. He’s ready to drag him back to the bottom, but Jason is ready. He throws Tina to the ground, and grabs the father by the throat. There will be no sneak attack this time. Jason picks up the father and launches him into a tree like a dart, killing him again…this time for good…we think.

Watching on, Tina is devastated and unable to move. Seeing her father die again has sent her into shock. Jason quickly retrieves the machete and with one big swipe beheads his old foe, evening the score and remaining undefeated here at Scared Stiff, moving to 2-0 with Madman and Tina Shepard under his belt.

WINNER: JASON VOORHEES

  1. Sorry, but Tina wins superfight 2. With her telekinesis, Jason can’t lay a finger on her. Everytime he comes at her, she hurls him away. And finally, Tina wins the battle by causing jasons body to implode into small pieces, like she did his hockey mask in the first fight.

  2. Jason loses of course. Tina throws him 50 feet straight up, then as he falls she opens a deep crevice directly under him so deep molten magma glows at the bottom. He falls into the lava and she slams the 4 miles of rock above shut. Then she goes to the 7-11 and buys a slurpee.

  3. Tough match…could go either way, but Jason is the favorite. I think he’s learned from his mistakes in the first encounter and will fight a smart fight.
