Jake Paul VS Tommy Fury: WINNER TAKE ALL & FINAL THOUGHTS – Boxing News

Jake Paul, 6-0, 4 KO’s, and Tommy Fury, 8-0, 4 KO’s, are facing off in a highly anticipated 8 round match that is 2 years in the making.  After Fury skipped out on a press conference and a face to face, but the two met up finally and it got very interesting.

Both boxers seemed confident and it got really interesting when Paul made a challenge on top of the boxing match.  We have a winner take all event.  If Paul wins, Fury leaves with a loss and no paycheck.  If Paul loses, he will pay Fury double what the purse is.  The challenge wasn’t immediately accepted by Tommy.  His father, John Fury, jumped in and yelled that it was a deal.  John is always notable when his sons fight.

The two had a face to face and it was interesting.  At first, going into this fight, I was heavily leaning to Paul by knockout, but I’m not as certain.  Tommy is going to be very motivated and appears to be confident.  Everything is on the line here.  If he does not win, he does not get paid.  Tommy Fury will never fight harder than he will this Sunday.

Tommy will try to use his speed and, more importantly, his jab to keep Paul off balance.  It could be enough to avoid that right hand of Paul’s, but there is one big problem that he faces that I can’t see him improving dramatically here.  Fury backs up with his chin up.  That’s what Paul is banking on.  His overhand right will land on Fury at some point when he backs up.

Jake Paul is such a great thing for boxing.  He has turned his 7th fight against the first “professional boxer” that he has ever faced into a huge event.   The truth of the matter is that Anderson Silva was a real professional boxer and Paul’s win over him was incredibly impressive.

This Sunday, I’m still picking Paul by knockout in the first four rounds, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes the other way and that’s the draw of boxing.  It’s a matchup where anything can happen with the stakes as high as they possibly can be.  I can’t wait for this one.
