House of Sin (2010)

At first glance looking at the DVD cover for “House of Sin” I’m thinking this might be a perverse re-make of “Texas Chain Saw Massacre”. It has a cool dilapidated old farmhouse eerily lit on the top half of the cover similar to Texas Chainsaw and several scantily clad women on the lower half. Well I was somewhat disappointed that this house does not exist in the movie nor did the women. It actually takes place in London inside a huge Victorian era hotel and how dare they put a sexy Asian chick on the cover, and then don’t have her in the movie!

The main character that only goes by the name of “The Mage” lives in one of the apartments. He apparently owns the building too. He’s got a cool name and some pretty outdated 80s shirts, basically he’s the whole package. No one knows who “The Mage” is or where he came from, but if I lived there I would have probably just asked him. I guess that would ruin the story though. He is a mysterious man who is somehow able to attract women (and some men too) to his apartment where they explore their every desire. Pretty good for a creep. Some are lesbians, some are dominatrix, some like to be spanked and others just like to be naked and roll around on their beds touching themselves. Throw in a cross-dresser and your cast of weirdos is complete.

Enter Paul. Paul is the narrator of the movie. He hangs out with “The Mage” doing pretty much nothing except sitting on the couch watching the action, sometimes in disgust and sometimes with a smirk. As Paul narrates the movie he talks about all the things he sees and tries to figure them out in a philosophical way without much success.

As the story goes on “The Mage” is knifed by a jealous husband of one of the women. I feared “the Mage” would survive this stabbing but thankfully he did not. At this point Paul has some freaky eye bulge and glow thing happen which I guess means he now has “The Madge’s” power for attracting women. “The Madge” leaves the entire hotel to Paul, because…well…I guess it’s because Paul is the only guy who would hang out with him. In the end Paul can’t handle all this power so he jumps in the tub and has some naked woman throw a toaster in the water. Thank god it was plugged in, killing Paul and ending the movie. I still say it was a waste of a perfectly good toaster.

Bottom line…this is a sexplotation film shot in a very artsy way. If you’re looking for a good story don’t waste your time, if you’re looking for naked chicks doing all kinds of naked chick stuff, well, then this is your movie.

I would be remise if I didn’t mention the awesome soundtrack on this film. YES, the music is awesome! There are all these music video-ish scenes throughout the movie and I loved every song. I would be happy it if they made an mp3 or CD soundtrack available so I wouldn’t have to suffer through the film again.

Scared Stiff Rating: 4/10. If you’re not a Dominatrix then you’ve got a “spankless” job.

BUY THIS MOVIE!
