ScriptFest and The Great American PitchFest are teaming up with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry to help raise awareness and funding for the Sarah Jones Film Foundation during the conference on May 29-31, 2015.

Some of the guest speakers/panelists at the 12th annual ScriptFest event for screenwriters and filmmakers will include: Oscar winners Diablo Cody (JUNO) and Nick Reed (THE LADY IN NUMBER SIX: MUSIC SAVED MY LIFE); along with Series Showrunners Hart Hanson (BONES), Steven S. DeKnight (DAREDEVIL, SPARTACUS), Bob Kushell (THE MUPPETS), and Peter Gould (BETTER CALL SAUL), as well as the writing staff from BETTER CALL SAUL. Also lending their support to the event are: Oscar winner Graham Moore (THE IMITATION GAME) and Series Creator/Star Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project).

Established after the tragic on-set death of Sarah Elizabeth Jones in 2014, the Sarah Jones Film Foundation aims to create safer film sets through education programs and grants for organizations that teach safety on film sets.

Working with Sarah’s family to bring attention to this issue, SciptFest will host a film set safety seminar free to the public during the conference. ScriptFest will also gift $5,000 to the Sarah Jones Film Foundation, as well as donate monies from t-shirt sales and a silent auction.

In addition to the conference, more than 120 top industry agents, managers, and production companies will also donate their time in support of the Sarah Jones Film Foundation, and to hear pitches from new screenwriters around the world at the Great American PitchFest, an event presented by ScriptFest and held on Sunday, May 31.

“This year we wanted to step-up the educational efforts of ScriptFest by not only helping emerging writers make connections and develop the skills to further their careers, but also by offering them a practical seminar that can make everyone safer on-the-set,” explains ScriptFest President Bob Schultz. “This is an important issue that affects the entire film and television industry and we’re thrilled to lend our support to the Sarah Jones Foundation.”

The annual event will be held at the Los Angeles Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel & Convention
Center (2500 N Hollywood Way, Burbank, CA 91505), May 29-31, 2015.

Nearly 2,000 writers travel from around the world each year to participate in this event, formerly known as the Great American PitchFest & Screenwriting Conference.
