I wasn’t familiar with Charles Phoenix before checking out his HOLIDAY JUBILEE book. The holidays are known for bringing joy and nobody seems as joyous as Phoenix, as he takes us down memory lane and to his kitchen to show the things that make him happy and where he came from.
The visuals in the book bring you back to the past and that’s the great charm to it. You are brought back to the time and sort of understand the author and what he’s trying to put out there.
Every holiday is covered. Phoenix gives you a backstory, what the holiday means to him, his accomplishments and a suggestions and recipe to go along with it. I was very amused going through this book and the recipes are interesting to say the least. Some of them are as over the top as Phoenix himself.
If you are looking for happiness in a book, HOLIDAY JUBILEE is for you. It was far different than I expected it to be and that’s a good thing. It was put together well, as random as it was, and I didn’t know there were so many meatloaf options. This is a ridiculous journey with the tour guide, Charles Phoenix. It’s actually a great deal of fun.
