Hikaru Shida is defending against Penelope Ford, with Kip Sabian. These two have been at each other’s throats recently and both are great. Ford comes to the ring with a strutting Sabian. Sabian is hilarious. Shida comes to the ring, very serious.
Love Dr. Britt Baker. She is sending notes to Tony Schiavone, singing the praises of Jericho. It’s great stuff. Sabian gets kicked out of ringside and the match starts hard and heavy with Shida trying to end it early. Ford survives and starts getting some good things done outside of the ring.
Ford continues the offense, using her gymnastic style and some moves out of the Great Muta playbook. Shida gets the momentum back and starts working on the back of Ford and lands the Falcon Arrow, but Ford reverses and gets a near fall. Ford lands the stunner and gets a near fall. This is a tremendous match!
Sabian tries to interfere and gets his ass kicked by Shida in a great moment. Ford lands another stunner and gets a very near fall. Ford misses the moonsault and eats a few knees leading to another Falcon Arrow and Ford kicks out again! Another vicious knee leads to a 3 count and Shida retains in one of the best matches in recent history on AEW.
