Palangi Films, headed up by musician and filmmaker, Frank Palangi, has an obvious love for the John Carpenter film “HALLOWEEN.” It’s a difficult film not to love and a series that has stood the test of time. A horror anthology series was launched by Palangi Films with the latest being called “HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREAT: THE RETURN”, and if you are fan of the series, you will enjoy this.
We begin with some of Palangi’s music to introduce the short film and I’m a big fan of that. Palangi is a great musician and his love of that art is on display in this as well as he acts and plays the guitar to start this thing out. We also get some great shots of Michael Myers, using different angles to make Myers seem larger than life, which he is.
Now, here is the kicker is this. This is a one man shoot. Frank Palangi does a great job in presenting a guy alone that is stalked by the pale-faced killer. This is something that I used to do back in the day. It is a testament to his creative talents and ambition. He proved that a one-man horror short is doable and that goes across the board, from the acting to the filming, to the lighting.
Palangi plays Lonnie and Michael Myers and the two go to battle, remarkably enough. The short film is just under five minutes and it’s nice to see his love of the series translated to the screen. HALLOWEEN is one of the most popular and iconic horror films of all time and I’m always up for a fan film concerning Myers and this one is a fun one and I look forward to checking out the rest of this series, even though I’m going in reverse here.
Check out the short film and check out the music by Frank Palangi. It’s some really impressive stuff.
