Lionsgate has just released HABIT on Digital and Blu-ray and it is a mixed bag with some things that work and some things that don’t. It definitely goes for a certain look and edge and mixes in some humor and some very good talent to pull it off.
Bella Thorne is a party girl, Mads, and she gets starts running drugs for Eric (Gavin Rossdale), but things go terribly wrong and she is forced to team up with her friends and hide out as nuns. Despite the costumes, the trio cannot keep it together and there are some funny moments where they think that they are hot in the costumes. A lot of the emphasis on this film is relying on the contrast of the behavior of the trio and how they are dressed. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
I have mixed feelings about HABIT. It’s not terrible. It’s got a great look and there was a method with its madness to create a feel and vibe. I saw some missed opportunities where they were right there and veered off. I can say that I didn’t hate HABIT, but the potential outweighed the final film.
