I’m more than a little angry. I rarely do editorials. I’ve done a few in the past, when I’ve been angry or wanted to share something from my insane childhood. That said, I’m extremely upset at FOX, at Greta Van Susteren and mostly at that rich pervert Roger Ailes.
I have often disagreed with Gretchen Carlson’s views on FOX NEWS. Still, I enjoyed the banter between her and her co-hosts. I also appreciated when she followed her heart and spoke about gun control. Regardless of my beliefs, it takes a strong woman to go against many of her colleagues and speak from her heart.
Roger Ailes is a 76 year-old chairman of FOX news. He’s a very powerful pervert. It is unfortunate that Carlson was victimized by this repeat offender. The facts are pretty clear, and regardless of the convenient defense of Greta Van Susteren, anyone with half a brain understands what happened.
Susteren, while on vacation, came running to defend Ailes stating she had never seen any sexual harassment. If she had stopped there, I wouldn’t be so upset with her, but she went on. She stated that her belief was that Gretchen Carlson was simply upset that her contract wasn’t renewed thus putting in the minds of many that Carlson was lying. That’s awful.
Susteren apparently doesn’t understand that sexual violations typically don’t happen in front of a crowd and just because it didn’t happen to her, doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.
Now, this is FAR from the first time that this misogynistic degenerate has been accused and honestly I think he belongs in prison rather than simply offering a settlement, which is bound to happen. When you go to someone’s WIKIPEDIA page and there is a section there about repeat sexual harassment charges, there’s a problem! When a biography is written about you and the book states that a producer (Randi Harrison) was offered a raise for sex, there’s a REAL BIG problem. I am thankful that Gabriel Sherman wrote the biography exposing this disgusting, sexist, sex offender. He should seriously be on the registry. People need to take sexual harassment more seriously!
He’s 76 years old! Why is it that the scumbags of this world live the longest?
If Susteren wasn’t a journalist and wasn’t aware of Ailes past, I may have let her slide on the accusations, maybe. The fact is, she knows. She knows the truth, but despite her saying she has a LONG contract and Ailes can’t touch her, I would bet my house that it wasn’t her idea to come running to tell the world that Carlson’s concise, descriptive, and completely believable accusations that historically have been corroborated by past behavior, was a lie. I’d like to see Susteren’s phone records and recent emails.
Shame on her! I haven’t been this angry in a while! Carlson has a HUGE following. She could easily get a job with any other network. She has the IT factor and despite me disagreeing with her, I watched her! She’s a likable strong woman. If anything, this lawsuit HURTS her career. Other networks and their insurance companies very well may look at her as a high-risk and a liability. It sucks, but that’s the truth. Despite that, Carlson is doing the right thing! She isn’t just standing up for herself, she’s standing up for the women that may be victimized in the future and those that kept quiet in the past.
As I’ve said before, my father was a pervert. He was a child molesting scumbag. The worst thing one can do to someone who has been sexually assaulted is to tell them that it didn’t happen. Thankfully, I have an amazing support system. Despite, Carlson never being touched, I consider this assault. This is going to stay with her. She may very well develop PTSD because of this powerful pervert. I am glad she is going balls-to-the-wall to take this guy down.
My father never faced punishment for his actions other than dying alone. He didn’t have the money and power that Ailes does. Ailes will probably have everyone including Susteren at his funeral crying and impatiently waiting for his will to be read.
The bottom line is that Carlson had to deal with something that at some point nearly every woman does. From guys sending pictures of their genitals to random women without penalty, to date-raping a drunk girl and getting 6 months in prison because daddy knows the judge, to doing a fabulous job as a news host and being fired because you won’t lay down and take it – it needs to STOP.
God Bless Carlson for speaking up! I hope she wins and I hope when Ailes does finally die he’s remembered for the pervert he is and not the powerful rich man he wants people to view him as.
GO GET HIM! The women of the world stand with you, Carlson. You’re doing what I wish I had done!
He is just another Clinton or Cosby. A sick old man who uses his management clout to force desperate women women who find him nauseating to submit to his fantasies and perversions. He needs firing and blackballing but he has used the “forced” sexual favors of his hapless underlings to “get the goods” on politicians and tycoons…..so like Hillary and her endless criminal acts, he will probably escape again. Nobody wants his little black book to go public.
It’s sick how other women are coming to the defense of him when it’s obvious he’s a sexual deviant. I guess when it’s either defend him or end up without a job, too many are ready to sell their soul.
I can’t stand him.
