“Boxeo Telemundo Ford,” the #1 Spanish-language boxing program in the U.S., returns to Telemundo this Friday, November 23 at 11:30 PM ET/10:30 CT from the Blackberry Auditorium in Mexico City. The bout will feature former WBC world light flyweight champion Ganigan “La Maravilla” Lopez and Ricardo “Meserito” Rodriguez in a ten-round battle for the WBC Latino Flyweight title. Telemundo Deportes’ commentators René Giraldo and Edgar López will call the action alongside three-time world champion Abner Mares.
Lopez (34-8-0 19 KO’s), from Mexico City, returns to the ring after failing to reclaim his WBC light flyweight title in a rematch against Ken Shiro. Lopez returns to Boxeo Telemundo moving up in category to chase a new world title opportunity, testing the waters in flyweight division.
Rodriguez (16-6-0 5 KO’s), also from Mexico City, returns to Boxeo Telemundo for his 12th appearance, having defeated many favorites like Daniel Lozano, Miguel Cartagena and Carlos Narvaez.
The co-feature of the night, Jerson Aguilar (9-3-0 3 KO’s) faces Jose Eduardo Hernandez (4-2-3 1 KO) over 8 rounds in the lightweight division.
The season will continue on Friday, November 30 live from Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood when Mexican Ricardo “Hindu” Espinoza confronts Colombian Yeison “El Yei” Vargas for the WBO Bantamweight Latin title.
