Floyd Mayweather JR – Oscar De La Hoya: “Golden Girl” Jab & Canelo Alvarez Attack – Boxing News

Floyd Mayweather, JR., is an attention whore and seems to have issue with any other fighter getting any limelight. The latest example was his attack on Canelo Alvarez after he signed a very large deal with DAZN, a deal that not only was good for the Mexican superstar, but was good for the sport of boxing. PBF could not handle it and lashed out, noting how much money he made and how he could make that much money in one fight. Floyd has managed to bring home the biggest paychecks in boxing, but why would this deal bother him so much? Why is Canelo getting this paycheck and signing with DAZN causing such an uproar? The days of PPV boxing are going away and subscription streaming seems to be the new way that will chase out the majority of boxing pay per views. Floyd’s 100 dollar fights may be seen in a different light if the boxing fans are paying 10 bucks a month and are getting tons of good fight cards.

Floyd took a jab at Oscar in drag, calling him “Golden Girl,” but it’s old news and never meant anything to begin with. The only reason why anyone cared about it was the fact that De La Hoya denied it and then paid off the girl, but nobody cared and nobody cares now. Floyd digging it up and posting it shows some desperation.

Oscar noted that Floyd is broke, but that is very hard to believe. Mayweather has made so much money in the sport that you have to assume that he has more money than he knows what to do with. He just seems to be desperate for the attention that is now going to the arguably best in the game, Canelo Alvarez.

Canelo has voiced his opinion, noting that he was willing to fight Floyd again, but that is not something that Mayweather would do at this point in his career. Floyd proved that he is not the same fighter that he was when he struggled with Conor McGregor. Canelo is much better than he was when they first fought. Floyd would have a much tougher fight if they fought again and that’s why it’s not going to happen.

Expect more tweets from Floyd and more “comeback fights” that will never happen as other hot boxing news hits. It’s all diversion and means nothing. He will not fight Khabib. He will probably not fight Pacquiao. He just wants the boxing world to look at him as they once did. Unfortunately, every star in boxing burns out eventually.

That Man: Peter Berlin (2005) - DOCUMENTARY FILM REVIEW

By Melissa Antoinette Garza Damn, I love the 1970’s. The genuine rawness and authentically erotic sexuality of that decade is palpable even today.  All I have to do is watch a few movies and listen to a few songs, and I’m there.  I see the generation of today searching for […]
