Evil In-Law: MANIACAL MOTHERS Featured in Mother’s Day HORROR FEST

Mother always knows best… or does she? In Investigation Discovery’s new Mother’s Day special, EVIL IN-LAW, it’s a battle for woman of the house when meddlesome mothers-in-law become dead set on driving the decisions in their married sons’ lives. While the sons insist that mother means well, their wives find themselves on the defense as they wrestle for control of their own marriages, from how to cook and clean to how to raise their children. The mama’s boys face an ultimatum – choose the missus or mommy dearest – but after their wives threaten divorce, turf wars rage into a matter of life or death when the maniacal mothers-in-law enlist hit men instead. EVIL IN-LAW premieres on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12 at 9 PM E/P.

“One truly is the loneliest number for a wife whose marriage is marred by an overly attached mother-in-law,” said Henry Schleiff, president and general manager of Investigation Discovery. “Celebrating Mother’s Day in true ID fashion, with mind-blowing betrayal instead of breakfast in bed, EVIL IN-LAW attests to the adage that three’s a crowd – not company – at least when it comes to love and marriage.”

EVIL IN-LAW features two tales of murderous mothers.

  • First, Alexandra Pesic thinks she’s found the perfect match in her loving husband, Joe. She even adores his mother, Jelka, who seems devoted and caring. But Jelka quickly transitions into an intrusive, overly opinionated, and domineering bully who drives a wedge into the once-happy marriage. AfterJelka nearly kills the couple’s son with a questionable herbal remedy, Alex makes the painful decision to leave Joe and her mother-in-law’s abuse behind… but in doing so, she sets off a deadly chain of events that literally ruins her life.
  • Then, high school sweethearts Justin and Becki Dillard graduate and waste no time starting a family. To save money, they move in with his mother, Debra, but Justin soon trades baby bottles for beer bottles and loses interest in family matters. Blind in her devotion, Debra downplays the issue and insists on mothering the couple’s young son, just as she begins to treat Becki more like a housekeeper than a daughter-in-law. Becki doesn’t see the threat standing right in front of her, or the danger that will ultimately cost her life.

EVIL IN-LAW is produced by Screaming Flea Productions with Dave Severson as executive producer. For Investigation Discovery, Diana Sperrazza is executive producer, Sara Kozak is senior vice president of production, Kevin Bennett is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is president and general manager.
