Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment is the home of great box set releases and one of the latest series we have been graced with is DEXTER’S LABORATORY: THE COMPLETE SERIES. I had heard about this series, but thankfully, I have kids that really know what it was and are fans of the show.
First, the box and presentation of this series is really remarkable. Physical media is making a comeback and this is a great addition to any DVD/Blu-ray library. A lot of thought went into this series release obviously and, if you are a fan of the show, this is a must own.
Since I had never watched the show, I didn’t know what to expect, but it is really enjoyable with sharp animation that reminded me of shows like PHINEAS AND FERB. The vibe is very similar too with it appealing to both adults and children. It’s cool for the kids and entertaining for the adults and the characters are really over the top.
Dexter is a young genius with a lab in his room and that is the foundation of the series as he does his experiments that always lead to storyline. His parents are unaware of what he does and he does a lot, including making his own super team which includes some super monkey. What lab is complete without a chimp? Dexter has one and he’s a superhero.
With his sister, Dee-Dee, Dexter keeps inventing and causing a lot of trouble and gets into many adventures that are very amusing at times. The fun nature of the show, humor and animation makes it an easy and fun watch and I can see why my kids really like this show. I liked what I watched of it and wish my kids were more into this when they were really munchkins instead of Elmo. Man, I hated Elmo.
DEXTER’S LABORATORY: THE COMPLETE SERIES is a great gift for your youngster or teen or for yourself if you enjoy silly humor and good animation. I highly recommend it!
