UK heavyweight Dereck Chisora, 31-9, 22 KO’s, threw his name back into the heavyweight division mix with a devastating knockout of former title challenger, Artur Szpilka, 22-4, 15 KO’s.
Chisora hunted down Szpilka from the opening bell, roughing him up and landing the harder shorts. Szpilka used movement and southpaw stance to try to confuse Chisora, but it didn’t last long. In the second round, Chisora got Szpilka against the ropes and landed a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the jaw to badly hurt him. Two other big hooks landed that knocked the Polish heavyweight cold.
Chisora can now fight any of the top heavyweights at this point as a quality veteran opponent with a puncher’s chance.
