The video of Dennis Quaid is going around having a meltdown on a set, calling some of the crew “pussies” and “zombies,” and then referred to one person in particular as “dopey the dick.” He then storms away and tells the director to blow him. Now Quaid is getting a lot of negative press for this, but he is an established actor and if the director is ignoring him, then he has a right to be furious.
Meltdowns on sets are a common occurrence. The long days and pressure lead to things like this. I don’t blame Quaid and if Dopey the Dick didn’t distract him, this would not have happened. If it wasn’t for the pussies and the zombies, he would have been fine.
Quaid has had a great career and he’s been a busy actor. He deserves the benefit of the doubt. He blew up, stormed out, and I’m sure he returned after a few minutes ready to go again. Who hasn’t yelled at a Dopey the Dick? I have.
