Counter-Strike Global Offensive First Person Shooter/Team Warfare REVIEW – VIDEO GAME NEWS

I have been a big fan of first person shooter games since I had my Nintendo 64.  I was painfully addicted to Golden Eye and Perfect Dark and I still find myself playing these titles to this day.  Other games came along in the same FPS genre including Halo and Call of Duty, which are also a lot of fun and continued the great style that so many have come to love.

A great entry in the first person shooter style has emerged.   COUNTER-STRIKE GLOBAL OFFENSIVE is a multiplayer game with a lot of different options in every aspect of the game.  It’s been getting a lot of coverage, most recently from Betway Esports.   It has taken everything that we love about these games and adds even more.  I found the hours flying by as I played and it’s easy to get lost in it and have a great time doing so.

The game is more strategic than most might expect.   This is focused primarily on the battle and there are no healths or power ups to give an unfair edge.  This is a team battle where you can play as a terrorist or a counter terrorist and with a large collection of maps to choose from.   You can also have different objectives to get the victory, including killing all of the enemies or completing a task before the other team can do so.  Both objectives provide a different experience.

It’s a lot of fun to rescue hostages and can bring some frustration as you attempt to keep the enemy at bay and defuse bombs.  Despite the frustration I might have endured defusing bombs, I found planting bombs to be quite fun and the amount of locations that you can do battle is really impressive.

A great addition to this game is the offline bots.  This is something that has been lost in first person shooter games ever since playing online took over.  Perfect Dark set the standard for bots to battle and Counter-Strike Global Offensive see the value in it and includes it.  It gives the inexperienced players a chance to practice and get ready for battle against those that have been playing the game for a while.  It’s not fun to be thrown into a massacre when you’re a newbie.

In the multiplayer world of gameplay, the game tries to make it a fair fight, matching the weaker players with the stronger ones, making it competitive.  The variety of weapons is amazing and choosing the right one for the right situation will be the difference between victory and defeat.  The more harmonious you work with your teammates is the key to overcoming the opposition.  I found that the more we planned, the more we found our way to victory.

COUNTER-STRIKE GLOBAL OFFENSIVE is a great deal of fun, mixing some of the qualities that you find in Call of Duty and Perfect Dark.  The controls are great and very responsive. I never had an issue taking out an enemy when I had them in my sights and they apparently never had an issue taking me out either.  Sometimes I never saw it coming.

I highly recommend this one, especially if you are a fan of the first person shooter games and team warfare.  The variety sets it apart and the bot battles you can do offline is great practice to take on fellow gamers in an epic battle.
