Matt Hardy is furious over what happened with Sammy Guevara. He sees a guy that looks like Guevara and attacks, beating his head against the wall, but it turned out to be a poor referee that was in the wrong place in the wrong time. I’m starting to get hope that Hardy will get broken again.
Scorpio Sky comes down to the ring, ready for a huge opportunity. Cody comes to the ring with an entourage including Dustin, Allie, Brandi and Arn Anderson. Sky is ready for this shot and is bringing in a record of 7-1 in 2020 while Cody has a 17-1 record.
Sky’s speed is the difference early on. He is out-thinking Cody. Cody decides to make it rough to compensate for the speed difference, but Sky is holding his own. Sky is going after the injured ribs of Cody. It might be his night to finally get some gold in the singles division.
Cody brings the game to the mat and his ground game is now giving him the edge. Sky continues to focus on the ribs and it’s wearing down the champion. Brandi and Arn are panicking as Sky lands a great diamond cutter outside of the ring, but he injures his lower back and Cody comes back and lands a superplex. Cody reverses the TKO into a Crossroads but Sky kicks out at 2!
A second Crossroads leads to a 3 count victory for the TNT champion, Cody Rhodes. It was a great match.
Brodie Lee comes out and lays down the challenge for an August match for the TNT title, screaming that time is up!
