Temperance
The card Temperance signifies a need for patience, tranquility and reflection. You’ve been on the edge. Work, home life and all personal relationships are seemingly in upheaval. Tensions are running high and the stress has got you down.
Your emotions are erratic because of the situations you find yourself in. One moment, you’re ready for an all out brawl and then the next you feel as though you’re going to pass out while standing up. All your energy is being absorbed into negativity. This may not be your fault or your doing, but you are the one being controlled by it. Whereas others can let things slide and move on, you stay focused and contemplate actions which are often considered overreactions.
This isn’t entirely new for you as when pushed, you are drawn to extremes. Your defense mechanism is to either fight or flee via long bouts of sleep. It’s not healthy and it’s taking a toll on you. The level of fatigue, exhaustion and emotional turmoil you feel is working against every aspect of your life. It’s time for a middle ground and only you can be the one to make the change.
If a friend or acquaintance is attempting to start conflict, disengage. Take some time apart and don’t give them what they want. Likewise at work, if a colleague tries to rope you into gossip, ignore it. The more you ignore it, the less you’ll find yourself in situations like this. If you’re not an easy mark, the vultures will stop picking at you.
If the brunt of the drama is with your spouse, have a plan for the next time a fight arises. Whether it’s going for a drive by yourself, having a friend on standby to decompress with or simply having your favorite tea and bubble bath in your home and ready-to-go, be prepared for the next time the urge to rage overcomes you.
If you can manage your anger and find within you a level of patience and understanding, not only will the relationships you have find proper and a positive balance, but you’ll be a far happier and more energetic individual.
