After a draw and a victory over Gennady Golovkin, Mexican superstar, Canelo Alvarez, 50-1-2, 34 KO’s, announced that he will be moving up to the super middleweight division to take on the WBA champion, Rocky Fielding, 27-1, 15 KO’s, on December 15th.
Fielding has not been in the ring with anyone as remotely talented at Canelo and will have his hands full, but the added weight may make things interesting if he can make it count. In the end, this is a good fight to test the waters at the 168 pound division. With the defense, chin, and counter-punching that Canelo has, he may prove to be an effective super middleweight.
