“Boxeo Telemundo Ford,” the #1 Spanish-language boxing program in the U.S., closes the year with a battle featuring two of Mexico City’s finest lightweights. Antonio “Tono” Moran faces crosstown rival Edson “Buba” Ramirez in a 10-round battle for the WBO Latino title this Friday, December 7 at 11:30 p.m. ET/10:30 CT, live from the Blackberry Auditorium in Mexico City.

Telemundo Deportes’ commentators René Giraldo and Edgar López will call the action, alongside three-time world champion Abner Mares.

“Boxeo Telemundo” will also be available online via the Telemundo Deportes app with additional news and content on TelemundoDeportes.com and Telemundo Deportes’ social media, including access to the weigh-in, exclusive behind-the-scenes content, and video highlights.

Antonio “Toño” Moran (23-3-0 16 KO’s) is a former WBO Latino Title holder. Moran claimed the title back in 2017 when he defeated Guadalupe Rosales on a 7-round TKO. He later made one successful defense in Mexico and returns this Friday to regain it after losing at the MGM Grand Garden Arena vs Jose Pedraza.

Edson “Buba” Ramirez (18-3-1 8 KO’s) will be fighting his first regional belt as a pro this Friday and looking to come back strong after falling short from wining his last bout.

The co-feature of the night is a classic Puerto Rico vs Mexico showdown in the light flyweight division. Rene “El Chulo” Santiago (6-1-0 5 KO’s) from Humacao, Puerto Rico squares off against Giovanni “El Colloradito” Garcia (2-2-1) in a 6-round bout.

“Boxeo Telemundo Ford” will return again in February, 2019 to celebrate its 30th anniversary and continue its storied tradition of being the top boxing destination and longest-running boxing program in Spanish language media. Debuting in 1989, Boxeo Telemundo has showcased more than 50 world champions, including Erik Morales, Felix Tito Trinidad, Wilfredo Vazquez, Daniel Zaragoza, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, Oscar “Chololo” Larios and Israel “El Magnífico” Vazquez, earning a reputation as the show “where champions are born.”
