Punk/emo band, Annie Jump Cannon, have signed to No Sleep Records. The band’s EP ‘The Worst Day’is available now on all streaming platforms. From October 19 to November 6, the band will be recording at Sound Acres Studios, under production from Gary Cioni and guitarist/vocalist Chris Freeman of Hot Mulligan, to cultivate their debut album.
“We couldn’t be more ecstatic to sign to a label that’s organic and encourages full creative freedom, not to mention their generosity towards the community and their extensive roster,” says the band in a joint statement on signing to No Sleep Records.“It’s a dream to be on the same label that put out some of our all-time favorite albums.
“In your face lyrics, raging drums and chants through out, ‘The Worst Day’ presents the perfect mix of diy/punk/emo/indie made to be played a max volume and brought to you by some (self-described) dirty, skater emo kids. As mentioned in Tucson Weekly, “what differentiates these Tucson locals from plenty of other angsty garage bands is a relieving emotional diversity, due in no small part to singer, Sav Membrila. The pop-punk aggression is there, but so is the occasional sense of sadness, hope and (gasp!) even happiness.”
Since late 2017, Annie Jump Cannon has happily shared the stage with bands such as Hot Mulligan, Born Without Bones, Dogleg, The Home Team, and Crooked Teeth. Their EP ‘The Worst Day’ is out now.
