The 1980s was a very good time for animation. The Saturday morning cartoons were the thing for the kids and it’s something special that has been long lost after all these years. Thankfully, much of the magic is being brought back and with THUNDAAR THE BARBARIAN, THE COMPLETE SERIES, from Warner Bros. Entertainment, reliving the time is very easy.
The Blu-Ray release features all 21 episodes of the series and brings some very interesting characters. It’s easy to start making comparisons to HE-MAN when you watch this, but it has its own unique style and approach to story-telling that separates it.
The storyline is that basically it’s a new earth with all sorts of new creatures and a throwback to the primitive way of living, leading to the rise of Thundaar the Barbarian. He has his group of friends to take on the evil forces and give hope to the people. There is a little bit of everything here in this series, bringing all sorts of unique fun.
I highly recommend this series release. I really had a good time watching this series and the story-telling is quite good and the restoration is very good. If you are a fan of HE-MAN or CONAN, this will definitely check all the boxes and entertain
