It seems that if you are an upcoming celebrity or celebrity who has been out of the spot light for a while, a shot of reality Television is a much needed boost to get yourself noticed, an ideal platform to shout “hey I’m here, see what I have to offer!” Well in this cleverly written and directed sequel in which is as refreshing as the first movie, it sure manages to adapt that scenario into this movie with deadly consequences.

So the movie… A reality program known as the “Apocalypse” where survival is everything, is to be hosted by ex Marine, Dale Murphy (Henry Rollins) the location being a dreaded forest within West Virginia, the home of a ruthless family, of cannibalistic, disfigured mutant type people…

The six contestants, being Kimberly (Kimberly Caldwell), however Kimberly never makes the show due to unfortunately running in to two of the mutants, one being the infamous, Three finger, this time played by (Jeff Scrutton) who splits her in half with his axe. However the remaining five being, Model, Elena (Crystal Lowe), Iraqi War veteran, Amber (Daniella Alonsa), The cocky, Jonesy (Steve Braun), Jake (Texas Battle) and Nina (Erica Leerhsen). So therefore with Kimberly, not showing, the producer, Mara (Aleksa Palladino) decides to join the contestants.

So the game of survival is on, however it soon becomes a battle for actual survival as, Three finger, along with fellow cannibalistic mutants begin their gory and brutal onslaught of the contestants and crew…

And just like the first movie this film is not shy of gore, with axes through heads, a scalping, arrows piercing through bodies and of course decapitations; the special effects team again first class.

It sure seems there is no stopping the mutants, however, they do underestimate the Ex Marine, Murphy, who goes out for revenge and determined to save the dwindling contestants, Murphy also as an explosive run in with the old guy from the first movie, known as, Old Timer (Wayne Robson), who meets his end, explosively.

As for the climax to the movie, Jake and Nina are held captive by a family of four mutants and it is down to, Murphy to rescue them, going commando style, therefore a bloody and gory climax guaranteed.

It leaves me to say, another great, Wrong turn movie that is worthy of a watch, that’s if you enjoy plenty of gore…

As for rating, 7.5/10
