This Saturday, UFC 250 is sure to tear the house down with the double main event. The women’s featherweight title will be on the line as Amanda Nunes, 19-4, goes head to head with Felicia Spencer, 8-1. Nunes is a beast in the cage without any weaknesses, bringing an incredible striking game and an equally impressive ground game. Her brutality is becoming legendary.
Two-division UFC women’s champion Amanda Nunes puts her featherweight title on the line for the first time when she faces Felicia Spencer in the main event of UFC 250. Spencer who is a (+400) underdog is confident after she went the full three rounds with Cyborg, but I just don’t think she has the skill set at this point of her career to deal with everything Nunes brings into the octagon. Amanda Nunes is the heavy betting favorite at (-600). With that in mind, this comprehensive UFC betting guide, is a great starting point for anyone new to the sport or as a refresher: https://www.mytopsportsbooks.com/guide/how-to-bet-ufc/
The legend grows by the fight and she has cleaned up the biggest names in the world of mixed martial arts. To become the best, you need to beat the best, and like all other all-time great fighters, Nunes targeted and destroyed the former queens of the game. Ronda Rousey, once one of the most feared women in the cage, was beaten at her own striking game and knocked out in 48 seconds.
One of the most avoided and feared fighters, Cris Cyborg, became another victim, getting stopped inside of a minute of the first round. Holly Holm, another great fighter, didn’t make it out of the opening round. Miesha Tate is another top level fighter that was utterly destroyed by this machine inside of the first round. Nunes is a storm that has been growing in strength as time goes by, but she’s got a very capable opponent that will be staring across the cage from her this Saturday night.
Spencer is a big underdog coming into this match, but she is strong and can get a submission on Nunes if she can take her off of her feet. Her only defeat was at the hands of Cyborg by decision in a very tough fight. If you compare the two performances against Cyborg, you have to favor Nunes that much more, but Spencer has shown the ground game to be a threat if she can avoid the incoming bombs from the monster she will be facing.
The co-main event features a bantamweight showdown between Raphael Assuncao, 27-7, and Cody Garbrandt, 11-3. Garbrandt brings a mixture of speed and power to the ring and has been in and beaten the best. Assuncao is strong and brings a diverse submission game to this match. Both men have lost a lot of momentum lately, but that will all change this Saturday night. One of these men will resurrect their career and the other will have to make some decisions. The bout will be full of emotions.
Also in action is bantamweight, Aljamain Sterling, 18-3, a fighter with a very unique offense. Not a heavy hitter, Sterling finds his most success on the ground and has choked out a lot of top guys. Cory Sandhagen, 12-1, is a truth machine and will be bringing a hard-hitting attack to Sterling. Sandhagen will try to land his vicious left hooks to the body and avoid the ground attack. If he’s on his feet, he’s got a great chance to win, but staying upright won’t be an easy task. This is a very interesting fight.
This Saturday, UFC 250 will be live on PPV, featuring an action-packed card with every fight having the potential to steal the show. I’m looking forward to this one.
