Tyler Howard, 19-0, 11 KO’s, had his hands full in the early rounds with the awkward KeAndrae Leatherwood, 22-8-1, 13 KO’s. Leatherwood used movement and landed his shots on the incoming Howard, but he would get exhausted quickly. By the third round, Leatherwood was out of gas and was put down by a left hook in round four. It was called a push, but it was a clear hook.
The rest of the fight was as ugly as it gets with Leatherwood clinching at any and every opportunity. A knockdown in the final round would clinch the fight for Howard by scores of 77-74, 77-73 and 76-74. It was not a good showing for either guy.
