Video game transitions to film don’t always work, but that is not the case with the HBO original hit show THE LAST OF US.  The complete first season was just released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD.  It can also be owned on digital.

In a world of zombie movies, THE LAST OF US presents a different twist with their version named “the infected.”  The show is dialogue driven and character driven with a mixture of darkness and hope.   Presented in 4K, the presentation is amazing and every element of the show clicks with a very cinematic feel. This release has all nine episodes and 3 hours of extras and, if you’re a fan of the show of a film fan, you will enjoy going through these.

The show focuses on survival and how an apocalypse can impact characters from different backgrounds and ages.  It’s very easy to fall into the show and put yourself in the position of the characters, asking yourself how you would handle such a dire situation.  With the modern world events, this show is even more impactful and gives a window of “what ifs” for society.

Released by Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment, this show was a lot of fun and mixes elements of horror, action and high drama incredibly well.  It’s a very relatable show despite the situations that the characters encounter.
