On October 19th, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment releases SUPERMAN & LOIS: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON on Blu-ray and DVD with plenty of bonus material along with all of the 15 episodes of the season.
The show is different than much of the Superman films and shows that I’ve seen, but it doesn’t forget its roots. There is a lot of consideration for what the movies put out there along with the shows like SMALLVILLE. We see the Man of Steel and Lois together with two children and living the life, bringing another layer and more scenarios not seen before with these characters.
The more human side of Superman is on display as he deals with parenthood and also starts seeing how his two sons have been handed down some of the powers that he has. He and Lois maintain their jobs as journalists and the show really plays out in a soap opera sort of fashion but mixes in action and the good guy versus bad guy approach that Superman fans are accustomed to.
The Blu-ray release is very sharp and the show is shot in a cinematic way. The show was very enjoyable and I’ve liked just about every other Superman show and film. SUPERMAN & LOIS is a different approach to the characters and it’s a welcomed one. I really liked it and recommend it.
