STILL FOOLIN’ ‘EM – BILLY CRYSTAL AUDIO BOOK REVIEW

By Geno McGahee

I’ve never been a fan of Billy Crystal, but his audiobook “STILL FOOLIN’ ‘EM” is a very interesting story, told well with some comedic value to it. Crystal has had a great movie career and a run as the host of the Oscars.

Crystal does a great job of painting a picture, including stories ranging back to his early years to where he is now in life. The approach seems very genuine and when you examine his life and his marriage, which he speaks of with regularity, you realize that he is.

The most interesting part of his audiobook is his reflections on his movie career and his behind the scenes look. He takes the reader behind that curtain and into the world where the politics are exposed along with some personalities that he had to deal with. There is also plenty of funny stories, bringing a blend of drama and comedy and maintaining the interest of the reader/listener.

The name of the game in his audiobook is Crystal’s pursuit of happiness and how he’s captured it and maintained it. There is a big level of inspiration to any that are chasing a dream. Crystal gives the “I did it. You can” message and that is just icing on this cake.

I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed this audiobook. I listened to it as I drove and I found myself driving the long route to ensure that I got to finish it. I highly recommend this.
