I was extremely excited when I discovered that Camp motion pictures, had released some cult and low budget movies of the 80s, and this movie appealed to me as it was the one of the first releases by Mark Polonia and John Polonia, two masters of low budget, independent movies.
The movie begins with a crazed, Jeremy, (Todd Smith) disembowelling a body in the barn, a haunting music places as the crazed, Jeremy chops away. The barn upon the farm that belongs to his mother named, Lacey, (Marion Costly) who is expecting her two nephews, Alan (Mark Polonia) and Joseph (John Polonia) visiting.
The crazed Lacey, as a necrophilia attraction to her supposed dead husband, his body rotting and being kept within the house…
Even though the movie is dated and the special effects do not live up to modern ones, this movie generally as a creepy and disturbing feel to it, though saying that there are moments and scenes that hold the plot up rather than shock us like they are suppose to do, such as when Jeremy, kills the farm horse and cuts himself… okay perhaps this was carried out to show how demented he is? However I feel the best sign of his demented behaviour comes as he slaughters a man in the woods, I will let you discover that…
There is genuine tension in the air as the nephews arrive at the farm and that creepy music seems to remain for most of the movie; there are interesting and disturbing moments that make you realise, Lacey as obvious very low morals.
The two nephews begin to realise there is something terrible wrong, what with the demented Jeremy and the seductive, crazed aunt it’s obvious the two nephews lives become in danger… A torture scene in which Jeremy punishes Joseph in the most inhuman ways, even now can feel disturbing. And the end is one of extreme violence with a twist, a guaranteed shocking finish.
This is a low budget movie and that alone excites me as I know the budget is tight so the director and writers have to work really hard to make their work appeal to you and obviously have to act in the movie to reduce costs.
Therefore this movie in its own right is pretty good and like I have stated is disturbing and if like me you’re a low budget fan, I advise you to give it a watch…
