Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has just released the hit animated series, SMILING FRIENDS: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON, to Blu-ray and DVD with all nine episodes and audio commentary.  The Adult Swim show was a major hit with a huge fan base and this release is presented incredibly well.  It just looks great and the humor that you’d expect from an Adult Swim show is here.

Pim and Charlie both work for the Smiley Friends, sent out to various people with issues with the hope of making them happy.  The show is super edgy and quick-witted. The show is random.  I had never seen it until I received a copy for review, but it was a pleasant surprise. I laughed a lot and the episodes have no rhyme or reason, but that’s not a bad thing.

The animation is very unique.  It pops. I got flashbacks of Beavis and Butt-Head.  The animation reminded me a lot of it, both in its look and its edgy material.  This may not be the right show for children but it’s the right show if you are a teen or older and want to get some laughs and don’t mind a show all over the place.  It’s good because you don’t have to pay much attention.

I recommend this.   It’s now available on Blu-ray and DVD and is a lot of fun.
