Every new release requires dedication and countless hours of writing and that’s what Prospective, progressive metalcore band from Bologna (Italy) embodied. The upcoming full-length album “All We Have” (Long Branch Records) from is manically treated to be emotionally entrancing. The Italian quintet – Pietro Serratore [Vocals], Luca Zini [Lead Guitar, Vocals], Davide Ruggeri [Guitar], Stefano Baldanza [Bass] and Flavio Cacciari [Drummer] – dig deep into their most personal side to deliver all kinds of feelings.
With a writing process on the edge of chaos and randomness, with months of frenetic work and countless nights spent shaping their new sound trying to achieve the perfect combination with the guitar tones. The songs are straightforward, hitting hard with no remorses, with rough guitar tones, heavy riffage, gnarly breakdowns along with catchy choruses and unexpected melodies. Everything has been made possible also thanks to the amazing job that mixing engineer Buster Odeholm and mastering engineer Ermin Hamidovic has done.
The loss of someone, the anger towards people around you, the constant theme of pollution and war, are some of the main themes that listeners will encounter while listening to the record. An intricate mix of anger and love, with lyrics talking about the feeling of being betrayed and the death of someone you love. The ongoing theme of war, either inside yourself and on the battlefield, is something the band explored in a meaningful way.
In comparison to their sophomore album “Unreal”, that was much more technical and less emotionally driven, this whole new chapter has given Prospective the chance to explore their deepest and strongest experiences and traumas which has driven the style of the album. There is a clear change in heaviness, with more thoughtful choruses but with more attention to song structures.
