Probability Chain – Part 1- by Regan Keeter – Book Review (A Serial Novel)

Have you ever wondered about parallel universes? You know, another level or layer of existence running side by side with our own everyday lives. I’ve had some great discussions with friends about exactly this. For instance we have discussed something as simple as turning left an an intersection instead of right. That little decision, in effect, changes the rest of your life. It really does. Some call it “The Butterfly Effect”.

Regan Keeter, author of the serial Novel “Probability Chain”, asks these three simple questions; “What if your life as you know it is not your life? What if the reality you live in is not the only reality? And what if you are not the only . . . you?”. Perplexing stuff I know.

The book “Probability Chain” comes out of the gate running. There is no slow build up. Right from the first paragraph the story is moving forward and I was already wondering what the hell was going on and what will happen next. This really impressed me. It is a well written story of Brian Dore, a seemingly regular guy, who has some rather strange things going on in his life. During a violent break-in at his house, while he is trying to escape certain death, he finds a note telling him that the police will arrive in time. Who left this note and why? How do they know he had dialed 911?

Brian start to realize that there is something much bigger going on in his life then just mere coincidence. For example, a woman who is hospitalized in serious condition, refuses to talk to police, but will only speak to Brian. The problem is Brian has no clue who she is. These unanswered questions are still swirling in my mind as I write this review. Why? Because “Probability Chain” is a serial novel.

I read the first segment in one sitting and now I am dying to find out what happens next. I read the paperback version, (Hey I’m old school) but the cool part is it is available as an instant Kindle download for 99 cents a segment. Very inexpensive and very worth it. Keeter’s writing is fast paced and engrossing. The entire book just moved along at a great pace for me and ended all too soon. Now the wait is on for the next installment. I really loved it as you may be able to tell. If you like Sci-Fi Mystery stuff then “Probability Chain” is for you.

Rating: 8/10 – A Fast paced thrill ride
