Paranormal Calamity – HORROR MOVIE REVIEW

I will always love a good ghost story. They let my imagination run to places that I could never create on my own. There is something mysterious and very relatable when I see or hear a good ghost tale. With so many types of ghosts from evil to funny there is no shortage of creative ways and locations to present their story. Movies dealing with apparitions and specters are out there in the hundreds if not thousands so there is bound to be something for everyone. The comedy “Paranormal Calamity” falls under the heading of “not for me”. I appreciate the hard work that goes into writing and shooting a film such as this, so I do not want to knock it, but I just don’t enjoy a movie based on sex scenes with a weak story. Perhaps this is what was intended so my comments may be off based.

“Paranormal Calamity” tells the story of a couple who definitely needs some marriage counseling. They do not get along very well at all. The husband just wants a little lovin’ and his wife just gives him lots of yellin’. So much so that it became tedious to watch the movie. She berates him constantly, but he always just slinks away. Unknown to them is the fact that their house is built on the location where a brothel burned down many years earlier and several of the prostitutes were killed. These same prostitutes are now ghosts and want to feel the love of a living human being so they take over the wife’s body at night and show her husband a good time. A real good time for that matter. He wakes up glowing and his wife wakes up exhausted not knowing why. When she realizes what has happened to her she goes nutty. Find out if their marriage can be saved by these aroused apparitions or if it is the end for our not so tight knit dueling couple.

“Paranormal Calamity” is a movie that was certainly shot with heart, I can see that, but what I really hoped for was a good story that wasn’t built around repetitive corny sex scenes. This movie is not a porn flick, but borders on one so if you like skin flicks certainly check this one out. I went into this thinking it would be somewhat funny but perhaps once I started watching I just couldn’t get into the humor of it. It just bored me because once I saw the first ten minutes I just knew it would be more of the same throughout. If anyone disagrees with me feel free to let me know your opinion, but I stand by mine. Safe (2012) – Jason Statham ACTION MOVIE REVIEW

By Geno McGahee I really had zero expectations for this movie. I have been unimpressed by the overall film body of work by Jason Statham. I do not like the TRANSPORTER movies or the CRANK movies. I did sort of like BLITZ and THE BANK JOB wasn’t too bad, but […]
