Lionsgate has just released NOTORIOUS NICK on Digital and DVD, based on a true story about a one-armed MMA fighter that defies the odds to erase the disability and become an inspiration.
Nick Newell (Cody Christian) wants to be a fighter and fights his way to the wrestling team in high school, eventually earning his way into the cage and shows that heart can overcome anything and that’s the appeal of this film. This film really does a great job of bringing the drama and showing a character that is easy to root for.
The path that Nick takes has many obstacles, especially the sanctioning bodies and athletic commissions that do not want him to fight. He fights just as hard to get into the cage as he does when he’s inside the cage.
NOTORIOUS NICK is a great film and it’s shot in such a gritty style. From the producer of BLOODSPORT, KICKBOXER and DEATH WARRANT and it shows. It has that same feel and the journey is a great one with a good payoff at the end. I highly recommend it!
