Flyweight Nico Hernandez, 6-0, 4 KO’s, easily cruised to a unanimous decision win over Josue Morales, 8-8, 0 KO’s, in an uneventful and less than exciting fight. The scores were 80-72, 79-73 and 80-72 for Hernandez.
Hernandez showed his skill and speed as Morales mostly defended, having spurts of activity, but this just wasn’t a fan-friendly fight. There was little to no drama and I’m not sure this is the impression that Hernandez was looking for as he was vying for a shot on DAZN or another big network. The flyweight division can be a tough sell to begin with, but the fight just wasn’t interesting. Hopefully he can find an opponent in his next fight that will compliment his style.
