Movies are not the Problem, The Audience Is

Did you ever notice how movie plots suddenly got unnecessarily complicated? Like it’s hard even to follow them anymore? Well, there are numerous theories about why that’s the case, but today we are going to get to the bottom of only one of them — modern technology. With the advanced technology being on the rise, and with Youtube and Instagram being mostly the primary sources of both information and entertainment, the average human’s attention span has been rapidly decreasing. It’s because the content is so mixed, crushed, edited and cut to fit a particular length or something, and it just needs to be so easy to follow and swallow, and you could say that there’s no need for lengthy documentaries and complicated pages of valuable info anymore. But is that really true? If you look at movies and TV shows today, you can see that the stories are continually evolving, the conspiracies are becoming more productive and juicier in details and whatnot, and I think it’s because the viewers are actually demanding it.

With everything surrounding us and trying to make us stupid, the human brain is unconsciously crying for something to challenge it, and since nobody wants to read anymore, movies and series are the perfect solution and have been ever since they were invented. That’s why there’s a specific constant evolution in these, and it’s why they are getting more complicated by the day. When you come home after a hard day at work where they physically exhaust you, you need something to exercise your brain with as well. In order for the human body and mind to be completely healthy, they need to be tired, and they need to be challenged. That’s why millions of young people are hooked to gyms and shows like House MD, Sherlock, Criminal Minds, and lots of other shows that are great in all honesty, and they’re probably the only reason why the TV industry has become so successful, even more than it already was before. Of course, not everybody likes to practice and to train their brain, and that’s why some people hang around shitty websites like Vice, Buzzfeed, and all around any kind of crap that gets thrown around on Instagram, because it’s easy to process, and you don’t even need to think about it afterward. But that actually has some serious consequences, because the longer you choose not to take care of your own brain, the longer it’s going to rot and eventually you’ll find yourself spiraling into some behavior that we wouldn’t wish upon our worst enemy. It’s okay to enjoy stupid things sometimes like junk food, cheesy rom com’s, idiotic movies, social media, porn, best sex games, but you have to have a limit. That’s the best advice that you’re going to get in a long time, so you better take care of your mind and body, because nobody else will do it for you, or better than you can, right?
