As you are all probably aware by now, I have a hunger for Indie Horror movies and this one said to me, YOU MUST WATCH!!! Yes once upon a time an Alligator roamed the sewers, now we have Monsturd, a giant human faeces roaming the sewers and on a murderous rampage…

The movie begins with a little child in bed, she cannot sleep and wishes for a bedtime story, her father cannot think of a bedtime story so the child tells him one.

Once upon a time in Butte county…

Dr Stern (Dan Burr) is involved in cutting edge experiments, creating a strain of some form of mutation, then suddenly there is a meltdown at the lab, part of his experiment is leaked and begins dissolving a lab worker. Dr. Stern watches this happen and after which he decides to rid the body so therefore dissolves the body in what appears to look like acid. Dr Stern then pours the contents down the sewer.

In the meantime, a notorious prisoner as escapes from prison, Jack Schmidt (Brad Dosland) He flees down the sewer, with the police and FBI in hot pursuit. They catch up with Jack and he is shot and falls in to a tanker that dissolves him. They take a sample from the tanker, something unnatural is within the tank, something that can mutate… Yes the Monsturd is born and it isn’t too long before he strikes, taking out a sewer worker. And not only does the Monsturd strike down the sewers but manages to find its way out of the toilets and leaves carnage of human disembowelled bodies along the way…

The monster is on the loose and it is down to Agent Hannigan (Beth West) and the local police department to battle this beast. And it isn’t too long before they realise this creature is somehow linked to the murderous Jack, as it leaves his style signature behind. It is down to the Sheriff Duncan (Paul Weiner) and Hannigan to convince the town that the shit man is for real… Like they are going to believe them…

In the meantime Dr. Stern is desperate to keep the Monsturd safe so he can continue to study it…
Hannigan though is suspicious of Dr. Stern and links him with the shit man, however first of all the shit man has got to be stopped and it isn’t too long before a plan is formed, now all Hannigan and the sheriff’s team have got to do is draw the monsturd out…

This movie has been well thought out and even though at times the acting can be slightly below average it makes good watching, as there is plenty of humour, as well as, vomit and yes you guessed it, plenty of shit…

My advice to you is, the next time you use the toilet, just check the bathroom out first, as you have been warned, “Don’t get caught with your pants down”

Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (1974) Zombie Horror Movie Review

By Melissa Antoinette Garza I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; whether it’s American made horror or horror made anywhere else in the world, the 70s delivered the best productions. I came across this movie accidentally.  I had been looking up different horror films online and this one […]
