In the 1980s, the youngest heavyweight champion of the world was crowned as Mike Tyson knocked out Trevor Berbick to take WBC gold.   This was announced as a “new era” in boxing and it was a much needed one.  The heavyweight title had lost its luster as it was passed around to fighters like Tim Witherspoon, Michael Dokes, Tony Tubbs, Pinklon Thomas and Bonecrusher Smith.  The division had not had a heavyweight that captured the imagination of the public since Muhammad Ali, but the new star was on the scene and, remarkably, at the age of 53, he is on the comeback trail and it is big news.

The rollercoaster ride that was the life of Mike Tyson has settled down and he’s in a good place as he focuses back on the ring and his target might be his old foe, Evander Holyfield.  Much like the days of their prime, the gambler are ready to come out and put some money down on their chosen fighter.  The bettors put their money down at the casinos and online sportsbooks.  Find the full review of betrivers sportsbook.  If this fight happens, it would be a fitting conclusion to the rivalry that they’ve had.  Both were involved in one of the most controversial moments in the game, when Iron Mike bit both of Holy’s ears.   They’ve both come a long way personally and we might be able to rule out a bite in a third fight.

Before stepping into the ring with Evander, Mike has made the headlines with another potential bout.  This time, he would be stepping into the wrestling ring with former AEW champion, Chris Jericho.   On a recent episode of AEW Dynamite, Jericho called out Tyson and the two went face to face in an epic showdown and a brawl ensued.   It made world news and it appears that Tyson will not tie himself down to one activity in this return.

Pro wrestling is not something that Mike is a stranger to.  In 2000, he partook in the WWE’s Wrestlemania as a guest referee in the Stone Cold Steve Austin – Shawn Michaels heavyweight title match.  Tyson was more than just the referee.  He took great joy in being part of the buildup going into the big show and his bad boy image fit right into the sport.  Tyson being part of the show turned the entire company around, showing the star power of the former champion.

Recently, a brand new training video was released and it looks like Tyson has turned back father time and is punching the mitts like Tyson of old.  With the mediocre heavyweight division, boxing fans have to start wondering what this man could do even at this advanced age.  George Foreman came back in his forties and won the title.  Maybe it could happen again.

Whatever Tyson opts to do, you can expect entertainment and the electricity that Kid Dynamite once brought to the ring.  It should be fun.
