I am a big fan of most films that involve airplanes.  I’m also a fan of mysteries.  The hit series MANIFEST checks both boxes for me and got me immediately intrigued in the show.  Now, Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment has released the entire series on DVD and they’ve done it well, with great presentation.  The show looks great and the box is made to sit amongst your most prized film collections.  They did a really good job designing it and making it somewhat of a collector’s item.

The show concerns passengers on flight 828 going through some turbulence but safely landing five years into the future.  Immediately, this is a really cool way to start a show and the characters are interesting to go along with the premise.  The writing is focused on character development and storytelling and the continued mystery keeps the viewer watching.  This is such a well-crafted show that certainly deserves the good reputation that it has.

The focus moves to how each character deals with this situation and how their loved ones do as well.  They begin to seek explanation and wonder if there was purpose in this event or if it was by chance.  There are so many moving parts in this show as it flows together and apart, weaving storylines and character developments.  The audience is along for the ride and also wants answers as each episode bleeds into the next.

Airing initially on NBC and finishing up on Netflix, MANIFEST is a complete series and sold as such.  There is a satisfying conclusion and drama and entertainment throughout.  I am a big fan of this series and as a collector of physical media, this is a perfect addition to my collection and to anyone else’s that enjoys this show and appreciates the artwork, case and ability to say “I own this.”  I highly recommend this series and picking up the DVD full release.
