LEAVING EDEN is a band with a great deal of personality and a great sound. Their catchy and hard rock tunes have been getting quite the response from the audience and has been earning them quite a following.
Scared Stiff had the opportunity to speak the band and talk about their music, future and more…
GM: Can you introduce yourself to the public? How would you describe your band, your style, your message?
Hi it’s my pleasure to chat with you here. I’m Eric Gynan cofounder of the rock band Leaving Eden from The Boston Ma Region USA. Current Lineup: Eve lead vocals, Alyssa White keys vocals, Jake Gynan drums, Rich Chouinard bass vocals, Eric Gynan guitar vocals. Leaving Eden crosses musical genres
GM: What got you into music?
For me, my Great Grandfather in Italy had an orchestra and my Great, Great Grandfather in Germany also had an orchestra. So it’s always been in the blood and since I could walk.
GM: What musicians/bands were your inspirations?
Right. So many old and newer artists from Sabbath, Ritchie Blackmore, Disturbed POP Evil. And then there’s Simon and Garfunkel, Crosby Stills ànd Nash.
GM: Talk about your latest album. What should the public expect?
How about I let someone else talk about Pinnacle?
LMNH Media for Leaving Eden
BOSTON, MA – November 13, 2019 –
LEAVING EDEN, a Boston-based hard-rock band. The new album titled “Pinnacle” (Dark Star Records/Sony/Universal) dropped on Friday, November 8th. This multi award-winning, female-fronted powerhouse of a band features the incredible spectrum and range of lead vocalist “Eve.”
2019 has been productive for New England’s hardest rocking hard-rock band, Leaving Eden, who have managed to unleash two albums this year. Their second, a fiery release titled “Pinnacle” is out now and communicating to listeners a multi-layered musical ascension with a laid-back atmosphere entirely devoid of the mundane.
From the complex crunch that is Calling Me, to the resonating bass intro on Hate Me, “Pinnacle” offers masterstrokes of sophistication laced with ferocity. Tempered only by “Eve’s” effervescent vox, the unorthodox scale of the caustic guitar in Feel Alive perfectly encapsulates the near-frenetic vibe of live, and the machine-gun metal of Hanging on a String keeps that aura alive. An anthem for life’s evil-doers, the controlled chaos that is Pure Evil sets the scene for a truthful reflection on the harsh realities of day-to-day evils, while the acute awareness of the universal condition is explored in We Are Not Alone.
“Pinnacle” punctuates the multi-layered evolution of composition and focuses your attention upon the unique musical vision that clearly sets Leaving Eden apart from the herd. Recorded in Chicago with Scott Creekmore (Lupara, Dirge Within) in just ten days, waves of harmony, hooks, and melody wash over the searing guitar and pounding rhythms – creating an ambient texture throughout all eleven eclectic tracks.
Cofounder and guitarist Eric Gynan says, “This album is so cool with some catchy tunes. I love the album cover by Guatemalan artist Mario Lopez. I give my ideas to Mario and [he] brings them to life in oil paintings – such a cool thing.”
Whether you’re revisiting “Pinnacle” or just discovering it for the first time, Leaving Eden’s trenchant collection is a must-have for any true hard-rock fan.
Leaving Eden’s album “Pinnacle” (Dark Star Records/Sony/Universal) is out now worldwide.

GM: What has been the worst experience you’ve had?
I would say probably the worst experience is when there might be some people on tour with you that make it difficult or the business end of it and the dirty money. I say dirty money because you know there’s always someone out there trying to take it in some dirt bag kind of way.
GM: With the changing mediums in the distribution of music, how difficult is it to make a living in the business?
Well I guess it’s all a matter of perspective. I always say with the streaming services you get paid peanuts but if you did get millions of plays a day then you’d still be racking up some dollars. So the big artists and making money doing that. You really going to be touring or playing constantly in order to generate those dollars. And there’s so many other avenues like getting music in movies, TV and stuff like that.
GM: Any final thoughts?
Well again it was a pleasure chatting with you here. Look forward to sharing the article.
