Lance Archer, with Jake “The Snake” Roberts, is one of the best heels that AEW has and he has underperformed since his debut, losing to both Cody Rhodes and Jon Moxley in championship opportunities. He is now on the verge of turning face and is teaming up with the Lucha Bros to take on Eddie Kingston and the new job squad, the Butcher and the Blade.
Kingston could have a great group of grapplers to represent, but the Butcher and the Blade are beyond help and that’s a shame. They are very talented, but this reminds me when Kane was Isaac Yankum, the dentist. This team is totally lost and Allie and her hubby have a world of potential, if they were given better stuff to work with.
Look for Archer and the Lucha Bros to win this one. I’m hoping that they steer him right back into heel territory where he belongs.
