There was no controversy this time as Katie Taylor, 16-0, 6 KO’s, out-boxed an opponent that gave her so much trouble in the past, Delfine Persoon, 44-3, 18 KO’s, taking the unanimous decision by scores of 98-93 and 96-94 (twice).
From the opening bell, Taylor battered Persoon, and her face really showed it with a potential broken cheek bone and nose. Midway through the fight, Persoon got some momentum going as Taylor got tired, but she rallied back and won the last couple rounds to solidify her victory. It was a great rebound fight for Taylor.
