Lionsgate has just released JURASSIC HUNT, a film that is exactly what you’d think it is by the title. Soldiers are hunting dinosaurs, but there’s a lot to unpack in this movie that some might love and some might not.
A group of soldiers from all over the world meet up to hunt dinosaurs that have been genetically made and are all residing in a park owned by rich guy. Yes, the makers of this have seen JURASSIC PARK, but it’s not a total rip off. This is not a family film. It immediately sets the tone as an R rated flick with the profanity and sexual comments. So, don’t watch this with your kids.
The film centers on Parker, a female adventurist, that learns some things about the park and she soon becomes the target of the hunt. Parker isn’t a bad character, but the other characters are sort of underdeveloped. The film is going for high action and an in your face sort of approach and it seems to work as a popcorn sort of movie, but if you’re looking for something with any depth, this is not your film.
JURASSIC HUNT is OK. That’s how I’d put it. I don’t think that it’s terrible but if you are looking for a continuation of the JURASSIC PARK story or something of that quality in any way, you will not find it here. I recommend it if you are looking for a mindless film that has some fun to it.
